Wayfinding Consulting

fd2s developed the wayfinding and identification signage and graphics for Facebook’s MPK21, a 523,000-square-foot facility designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry. Together with its 430,000-square-foot, Gehry-designed predecessor, MPK20, the building’s single office level and expansive roof garden offer Facebook employees a wide range of spaces to collaborate and recharge.

The fd2s team closely followed Facebook’s Global Signage Standards when designing the signage and graphics. These standards emphasize simple forms and a spare palette of plywood, paint, and vinyl. This deliberately stripped-down aesthetic underscores the “always a start-up” mentality that permeates the company’s culture.
