Wayfinding Consulting

fd2s created a wayfinding master plan for the Oklahoma Health Center, the flagship medical district within Oklahoma City. On this highly collaborative project, fd2s worked closely with OHC to get buy-in and assistance from the University Hospitals Authority and Trust, as well as obtaining approval from Oklahoma City representatives, state government leaders, and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.

By delivering a well-documented strategy and set of detailed design concepts, fd2s equipped OHC to take ownership of the program and implement the interior, exterior, print, and website components of a truly integrated wayfinding approach.

Major features of the program include exterior signage for street-numbered entries and highway-style signage along Lincoln Boulevard. This large-format, over-the-road signage – the first of its type in Oklahoma – defines the district and provides clear directional guidance to approaching motorists.

“fd2s has been a vital part of the success of our wayfinding system. Their expertise has been a constant guide as we have navigated through stages of our master plan into implementation, especially in areas of political concerns. fd2s is extremely qualified for the development and implementation of major wayfinding systems, including the graphic vocabulary that extends to our printed and virtual assets.”
