Wayfinding Consulting

Following the renovation of their flagship theater, Bass Concert Hall, Texas Performing Arts engaged fd2s to create a signage program for the 2,900-seat venue that would clarify circulation and improve the patron experience.

fd2s worked with the client’s scenic studio and operations staff to develop an attractive and hard-working signage program that accomplishes a broad range of aesthetic and practical objectives. The program injects color for orientation, utilizes a mounting strategy that responds to lines of sight during heavily attended events, and emphasizes simple form factors that can easily accommodate event-specific information.

Based on our coordination with the venue’s technical team, we were able to design the system so that key components can be updated in house, making the system easy and cost-effective to maintain.

“As I walk through our building, I often think ‘Damn, our wayfinding looks good.’”
