Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming and Diving Center

Underwritten by a generous alumnus, these exterior and interior exhibits at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming and Diving Center (located on the University of Texas at Austin campus) provide recognition for athletes that have participated in the program dating back to its inception. The exterior exhibit, which comprises perforated metal “ribbons” and name “medallions”, is integrated with a handrail that surrounds an existing large circular tree well to artfully engage the courtyard space, which doubles as a pre-function space for events. 

A companion exhibit located inside the building highlights the storied history of the university’s swimming and diving program by means of a layered and panelized display with team rosters, quotes and images. These exhibits were formally unveiled in a February reception, attended by a number of alumni, to coincide with the 2013 national championships hosted by the university. Both exhibits have been designed to accommodate future accomplishments.
