Wayfinding Consulting
LSU Foundation, the fundraising arm of Louisiana State University, engaged fd2s to develop a donor recognition and wayfinding strategy for its still-new three-story, $10-million headquarters building.
Like other prestigious university development organizations, LSU Foundation sought to nurture its relationships with donors and grow its fundraising potential by having an appealing space of its own. Situated in a prime location on campus, the building includes a welcome center, conference facilities, administrative office space, and a third-floor terrace facing Tiger Stadium.
The donor recognition framework created by fd2s reflects a subtle hierarchy of gift levels. A feature wall in the main atrium includes both a floor-to-ceiling roll call of benefactors and a digital interface that provides more information about the Foundation and its efforts on behalf of the University.
“We engaged several firms to discuss our donor and wayfinding signage project, and fd2s stood out because of the firm’s beautiful aesthetic. So often, signage feels like a bandage applied on a handsome building, but fd2s worked with our architectural plans to create something special and unique to us. They were a great resource for determining appropriate scale for donor recognition and sharing creative ways to approach that piece of the project, and coaching us on best practices and material selections. We’ve been in our building for a couple of years now and still receive compliments.”
